Simple
Beginnings

In 2018, our founder – a tax attorney then with a large accounting firm – discovered through personal travels that many U.S. expatriates and nonresident aliens (foreigners) had U.S. tax concerns going unanswered. He began offering advice and assistance with tax preparation simply as a favor to friends, but that quickly became both unsustainable and risky. There was so much demand for help, (and the work so much more personally rewarding than most corporate international tax work), that he left the big firm life to work independently.

By 2021, work had picked up and our founder formalized TaxTime International.  We expanded to assist purely domestic clients with purely domestic concerns.

Personal

Upon contacting us, you are immediately put in touch with a professional who will answer your questions and guide you through the maze that is tax. We do not use send automated messages, nor do we ever send a message from somebody who did not, in fact, write it. We do not use email marketing materials, sell subscriptions, or employ artificial intelligence. Call us old-fashioned, but you can expect to work with a human being.

Secure

Our client portal uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) with 256-bit encryption, and we never share your information. Unlike other remote tax firms, we do not employ independent contractors or third party businesses, such that only our employees - and only a select few - should have access to your information. While we use the cloud for information transfer via the portal, most information we store is stored cold - meaning not on the cloud.

Current

From the latest Corporate Transparency Act court challenges to cryptocurrency wash sales to treating disregarded entities as regarded for information returns, we make it our business to keep up-to-date with the latest U.S. tax law changes. We also make a point to anticipate potential changes in the law - and in your circumstances - in our planning and advisory services.

Fully remote

We communicate via videoconference, email, and telephone, and use a client portal for secure uploads and downloads of sensitive information. Wherever you are, as long as you have internet access (an sometimes even if you don't), we can assist. We use enterprise-level software and government sites to file returns. We are also aware of time differences, and will not call you at 3am!
